Privacy Policy

In short: Keks Log has no idea who you are. You never register, and at no point do we ask for a name, an email address or a phone number. Your entries reach our server stripped of anything personal, so they cannot be matched to anyone.
Why Privacy Comes First
Privacy is the foundation Keks Log was built on, not something added later. Few kinds of information are as personal as the details of someone's intimate life, and we think those details should stay entirely in your hands.
What We Do Not Collect
Most apps gather the things below. Keks Log gathers none of them:
- Who you are: your name, email address or phone number
- Where you are: location data of any sort
- Usage analytics describing how you move through the app
- Identifiers used for advertising
Where Entries Are Stored
Your entries are kept on your device and copied to our server. That copy is what lets them outlive a lost phone, show up on a second device and reach your partner. Nothing that points to you is stored with them: no name, email address, phone number or date of birth. Entries made on the same device are connected to one another, because sync cannot work otherwise, yet none of them is connected to a person.
Syncing With a Partner
When you decide to connect with a partner:
- Everything is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves the device
- A temporary relay server is used for one purpose only: setting up the first connection
- After that, your devices sync directly with each other
- What you sync is out of our reach: we can neither read nor access it
Your TOTP Secret
The secret behind your time-based one-time password (TOTP) is:
- Created on your device and nowhere else
- Never sent to a server of any kind
- Kept safe in the keychain or keystore of your device
When the App Crashes
After a crash, we may receive an anonymous report that includes:
- What kind of device it is and which OS version it runs
- Which version of the app was running
- A stack trace, i.e. technical details of the error
Your personal data and your log entries are never part of such a report.
No Third Parties
No advertising network, analytics platform or social media service is built into Keks Log, and we pass no data at all to third parties.
Deleting Your Data
Removing the app wipes the entries stored on your phone. The server copy, which carries nothing that identifies you, stays where it is: since it belongs to no identifiable person, a deletion request would have nothing to point to. The app has no separate option for wiping everything from the server. If you were synced with a partner, your partner keeps their own copy of the entries you shared.
Age Limit and Children
Keks Log is made for adults only, and we do not knowingly collect information from people under 18.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised from time to time. We will let you know about any change by publishing the revised version on this page and moving the "Last updated" date.
